Is it possible to force PDF download through browser extension?

My browser opens and displays the PDF file directly in the webviewer of PDFtron.
However, I would like to open the PDF on my second monitor, preferably in adobe reader or other PDF reader application.

Is this possible to achieve? Maybe through browser extension or plugins?

Hi,

Thank you for contacting us regarding WebViewer. There isn’t a way for a webpage to open a file in Acrobat. The closet I can think of is to use the downloadPdf API and have the user set their browser setting to open the PDF in another program after downloading it
